Stephen Daedelus History is a nightmare from which I'm trying to awake. The Mona Myth series is the only piece of art I know that breathes life into that very real sentiment for me. Thank you Come look with me for sharing this with the world, and World, just listen to the soundtrack, have the experience, go underneath and drown, please. As any follower of the Mona Myth series knows, it's okay to allow yourself to be swallowed whole by the Light. Favorite track: Crossing the Threshold.

about

Dear Friend,

I'm really happy to be sharing with you all the gorgeous original soundtrack to the first Mona Myth released back in 1986. I've digitized this from the cassette, which I found amongst other great gems in my sister's storage, others of which I hope to be sharing with you all in the future.

There were a few copies of Mona Myth that shipped with a one-sided cassette of the OST along with some other goodies in what was an awesome but short-lived gimmick for Koi-Koi, trying to get an edge, whatever. I was too young to have any memory of having ever owned this copy, but my sister must have obtained it some way or another. Not even sure we played the original Mona! My first Mona memories were of the 64-bit console.

I've always connected very intimately with the story of Mona and have tended to project myself onto her, which I guess is what we all do. I'll never forget my first time waking up in the quiet little village of Devonshire, alone, looking for your missing friend with no idea about the Light that will devour your world. When I first moved away from my parents home, I understood in myself a feeling of deja vu, which of course was through the echo of Mona's self-re-imagining in Brookton Town in the game's admittedly strange ending. And the endlessly surreal and glitchy Pizza Palace! Good times. Anyway.

Oddly the game's music has never been attributed to any specific person or group of people so I've no choice but to attribute it to me, which is to say it was written by us all.

Please enjoy and tell me whatever if you want!

Love, Maebelle
